Week 1 ReviewSeptember 7, 2010 9:53 am
Not a good week for the Big East in week 1. The only wins were over FAR inferior opponents (Norfolk State, Akron, Costal Caronlina, and Stony Brook), some of the losses against non-BCS teams hurt the league's perception (Utah and Fresno State), and WVU and Rutgers did not look good in their games (even though both won 31-0). Now, we have to listen to talk all over again how the Big East is no better than the Mountain West and does not deserve it's AQ status. Hopefully, the league will start getting it's feet under them again this week and go at least 6-2 (losses at Washington and Florida are not bad). Please feel free to post comments about your opinions on week 1 here... Category: NCAAF Tags: Review
Last chance pre season predictions!!!August 30, 2010 12:03 pm
OK, the time we have been waiting for is almost here. Last chance to make preseason predictions for the upcoming football season. Here are some of mine: 1.) Deon Lewis gets injured and does not win the Big East rushing crown. 2.) Noel Devine will come close to, if not own, the overall rushing record at WVU. 3.) WVU will win the Big East. 4.) UConn will not beat WVU and will finish second in the Big East. 5.) The Big East will have a winning percentage in OOC play. 6.) The Big East bowl will win at least 5 bowls. Big East Network and BowlsAugust 6, 2010 2:29 pm
Thought this might be an interesting topic, please let me know what you think. With football media day behind us, I think one of the most interesting things that was said concerned the Big East Network. To me, it sounds like the Big East might attempt to change it's network so that it does not sell them to broadcasting stations, but actually morphs into a broadcasting station itself (like the Big 10 network is). Do you think this is a good idea? Also, I wanted to see the attitude of other fans concerning the Bowl games which the Big East gets. I think they have WAY undersold the Big East. Does anyone else out there realize that we are the ONLY BCS conference not to have a tie in (the Big 12 has a tie in to the Fiesta now). The other fact that upsets me about the bowls is that the second place Big East team is pretty much playing in a bowl that the 4th place ACC team would get.
